It is still important to always check carefully with your brokerage firm before acting on any quote, especially if the price looks too good to be true. Real-life circumstances, such as stock splits, mergers, or a very wide range of strike prices for a single stock, can result in different symbols than you might expect, or quote symbols that represent an unusual number of underlying shares.
