American Stock Exchange

BOX is a fully automated equity derivatives market that was created as an alternative to the existing market models. BOX represents a significant innovation in options trading with a market structure that operates with low costs which eliminate barriers to trading, an electronic auction feature that offers customers price improvement, and a model that functions without a trading floor. The Exchange was the first of its kind to offer a price and time priority-matching algorithm, where all orders are tradable with no exchange facilitated payment for order flow mechanism. Newedge USA, LLC
Newedge USA and its Equity Clearing Division have taken a leadership role in introducing one of the biggest changes in customer margin rules in 40 years, with the expansion of its “Portfolio Margining” program to qualified customers with options trading experience. As a result, risk-based margining is becoming available to more investors that are now subject only to traditional product based margin requirements. The margin calculated in a portfolio margin account is generally lower than with Reg T, and can provide many attractive benefits to participating customers, including enhanced leverage in trading accounts.
Newedge USA is part of the Newedge global organization with memberships on 46 futures and options exchanges and 20 stock exchanges. On August 8, 2007, Calyon and Société Générale signed a joint agreement to combine their respective global brokerage activities which comprised the Fimat and Calyon Financial groups.
