Options Industry Council Appoints PR Director Seeks to expand awareness of options education effort
Chicago—March 13, 2000
The Options Industry Council (OIC) today announced the appointment of Pam Tvrdy as Director of Public Relations. In this newly created position, Tvrdy will design, direct and implement communications strategies to strengthen awareness of the OIC's extensive educational programs about the uses of equity options. OIC's programs are provided free to investors throughout the United States and Canada.
Tvrdy joins OIC from Allstate Insurance Company, where she was a Senior Communications Consultant in the company's Corporate Relations Department. In that position she developed internal and external corporate relation strategies for Allstate divisions including Life and Savings, Information Services and Human Resources. Prior to joining Allstate in 1997, Tvrdy was Manager of Public Affairs for The Chicago Stock Exchange, where she directed that marketplace's external and internal communications activities. From 1989 to 1993, she was with Edelman Public Relations' in Chicago.
Tvrdy earned a BA, Communications from Marycrest College, in Davenport, Iowa and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Communications at DePaul University in Chicago.

The Options Industry Council (OIC), which includes the American Stock Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, Pacific Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange and The Options Clearing Corporation was formed in 1992 to create an extensive educational program about the options market.
