Leap Into Spring Wwith New Investment Skills: Options Industry Council Announces Spring Seminar Schedule

Chicago—March 22, 2004

Investors and brokers interested in learning more about equity options can look to The Options Industry Council (OIC) as a resource. OIC announced today its spring schedule of options seminars, taught by exchange professionals in a classroom-style format. The seminars take place in select cities in the U.S. and Canada from 6-9 p.m. and there is no cost to attend.

Spring classes will be held in the following cities from April 1 through June 3: Atlanta, Baltimore, Cambridge, Mass., Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, San Mateo, Calif., Schaumburg, Ill, St. Louis and White Plains, NY.

"With the continuous growth of the options market and a growing interest in educational offerings, investors and brokers look to our free options seminars as a vital learning tool," said Paul Stevens, President, OIC. "We continue to tailor our offerings in response to investor and broker feedback. This includes expanding our offerings beyond basic and intermediate to include strategy specific seminars such as Covered Calls and Market Direction."

Investors and brokers interested in attending the seminars can obtain a detailed schedule of the dates and locations, as well as register for the seminars, through OIC's Website or by calling 1-888-OPTIONS.

Seminars include

Basic Seminar: Options Strategies for Stock Investors - This seminar introduces the fundamentals of options and explains how to use equity options as a way to participate in stock price movement. Using real data, investors learn how to choose an options strategy in light of market expectations and volatility forecasts.

Intermediate Seminar: Practical Strategy Applications - A follow-up to the basic seminar, which provides insight on managing an options portfolio. This workshop briefly reviews options basics, provides more in-depth instruction on pricing concepts, and explores volatility using educational software. More complicated strategies for the different markets will also be discussed.

Practical Uses of Covered Calls - OIC's first strategy specific seminar begins by reviewing options basics. This seminar will teach you what stocks to look for, how to calculate returns and how to manage positions. Attendees will also learn when to use the covered call strategy and how to create a disciplined approach to implementing it.

Trading Market Direction with Listed Options - This second strategy seminar introduces options strategies for sharp market moves with limited risk and teaches how to take advantage of options time decay in slow moving markets. The seminar also discusses how options prices change with underlying stock price and time to expiration changes, and how to plan options trades with realistic expectations.
