OIC Introduces Online Class "Volatility"
Chicago—November 15, 2004
Want to understand one of the most commonly used yet least understood concepts in options trading? Then look no further than The Options Industry Council's (OIC) newest online class, "Volatility." This free class is located within OIC's Website.
"Our newest online class explains a complex subject that many investors don't understand. From this class, investors will gain an understanding of the relevance of volatility," said Paul Stevens, OIC President. "This class is our latest addition for the more advanced investor and joins five other diverse classes in this group."
"Volatility" offers the following instruction:
- Learn what volatility is, how it works and why it is important to understand
- Discover volatility's potential impact on options positions
- Understand how probability theory and changes in volatility affect option premiums and profit or loss
Interactive examples help course participants visualize the outcomes of decisions and allow them to theoretically test a strategy before investing. A quiz is included at the end of the course so participants can measure their knowledge and progress. Investors may repeat the class until they have a solid understanding of the topic.
