OIC Announces Fall Schedule of Free Seminars Two new classes to be offered

The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today its schedule of fall seminars, including the addition of two new seminars that will take investors to the next level: "Understanding and Trading Options Spread Strategies" and "Advanced Options for Experienced Investors."
The seminars are taught by exchange professionals in a classroom-style format. They take place in select cities in the U.S. and Canada from 6-9 p.m. and there is no cost to attend.
Fall classes will be held in the following cities from September 7 through November 11: Boca Raton, Boston, Chicago, Long Island, NY, Miami, Montreal, QC, NY Downtown and Midtown, Parsippany, N.J., Philadelphia, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, San Jose, Calif., Seattle, Toronto, ON, Troy (Detroit), Mich. and Washington, D.C.
"In response to investor and broker feedback, we've added two new advanced seminars to our offerings," said Paul Stevens, President, OIC. "These seminars will present investors with an opportunity to enhance their options knowledge by exploring a variety of new strategies for different market conditions. At OIC, we believe the learning curve for options education is never-ending."

New! - Understanding and Trading Options Spread Strategies - After mastering the basics, spread strategies take options traders to the next level. Learn the benefits of vertical spreads, straddles, strangles, and some spreads involving both stocks and options. First, learn how these strategies work and the profit and risk potential. Then, discuss why these strategies are appropriate for particular market forecasts. Price behavior and options mechanics are also explained.
New! - Advanced Options for Experienced Investors - In this seminar, an instructor will discuss options valuation and its importance in establishing performance expectations. The presentation explores bullish strategies for the experienced options user and compares call buying, put selling, and spreads.
Basic Seminar - Options Strategies for Stock Investors - This seminar introduces the fundamentals of options and explains how to use equity options as a way to participate in stock price movement. Using real data, investors learn how to choose an options strategy in light of market expectations and volatility forecasts.
Practical Uses of Covered Calls - OIC's strategy specific seminar begins by reviewing options basics. This seminar will teach you what stocks to look for, how to calculate returns and how to manage positions. Attendees will also learn when to use the covered call strategy and how to create a disciplined approach to implementing it.
