OIC Introduces Online "Contract Adjustments" Class
Chicago—September 10, 2001
The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that it is adding a new "Contract Adjustments" class to its online educational offerings. The class is located at OIC Online Classes.
The class explains the details of stock splits, mergers, and other adjustments that affect an options contract. It provides education on what types of adjustments exist, what their typical effects are and where to find pertinent information.
"Understanding the impact that corporate actions have on options contracts is a very important aspect of options investing," said Paul Stevens, President, OIC. "I believe this is one of the most comprehensive online classes available about this topic . Also, users can keep repeating the class until they have a solid understanding."
This course and others are accessible from the OIC Web site at no cost to the public. Other classes currently available include "Options Pricing" and "Symbols and Quotes."
OIC is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by the nation's options exchanges to provide investor education about equity options. Today, its members include The American Stock Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, International Securities Exchange, Pacific Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange and The Options Clearing Corporation.
