The Warsaw Stock Exchange And The Options Industry Council Announce Initiative For Equity Options Education
Warsaw and Chicago—November 20, 2008
The Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) and The Options Industry Council (OIC), a world leader in options education based in Chicago, announced today that they have entered into a licensing agreement and are working on the development of an educational program aimed at Polish investors.
Following similar agreements in Canada and Asia announced in the past year, this is the first licensing agreement between OIC and a European exchange.
“Investor interest in trading equity options continues to rise globally,” said Gina McFadden, President of OIC. “The new licensing agreement with the Warsaw Stock Exchange expands OIC’s efforts in educating European investors who already have a significant impact on U.S. options volume.”
Under the licensing agreement WSE plans to create educational resources for all levels of investors from novice to advanced. The main educational source will be a new and systematically updated WSE website. Similar to OIC’s website, www.optionseducation.org, this new website will provide investors with an extensive knowledge database as well as a wealth of useful investment tools. One of those tools will be a testing environment where users can track their learning progress and familiarize themselves with trading in options markets.
