Session Descriptions

Options Overview — Understanding Calls, Puts, Greeks and Volatility: Terms such as "rights versus obligations", "long versus short," and "risk versus reward" are all fundamental trading concepts that every investor should know. This session will cover important options terminology and more including a discussion of the Greeks — which ones investors should focus on and how to simplify them. You'll also learn about why volatility is such an important part of the options arena.

Collar Strategy: This session is one a stock investor shouldn't miss. You'll learn how the cost of a protective put can be partially or completely offset by the sale of a call option, with a little room left on the upside for potential profit. The strategy is called a collar and is designed to outperform a buy and hold strategy during neutral markets following a period of appreciation. If you are looking to protect accrued profit on shares that you already own, you might want to consider the collar strategy.

Calendar and Diagonal Spreads: Are you familiar with calendar and diagonal spreads and how they work? Dan Sheridan, of Sheridan Options Mentoring, will discuss innovative income strategies that apply the elements of these particular spreads. From an investor's perspective, you'll come out of this session understanding what factors impact these spreads and what are the different approaches.

Butterfly and Condor Strategies: How does a bull and bear spread equal a butterfly? Why consider a condor option strategy? How much risk/reward is involved in each of these strategies? Get the answers to these questions plus learn about the intricacies of call, put and iron butterflies and condors.
