Eric Cott, Director, Financial Advisor Education
Eric Cott is the Director of Financial Advisor Education for The Options Industry Council (OIC), the leading provider of unbiased education to promote the responsible use of exchange-listed options. The OIC is managed by OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization.

In this role, Mr. Cott is responsible for expanding OIC’s outreach to financial advisors and works to help them and their firms to use exchange-listed options more effectively. Additionally, Mr. Cott participates in conference panel discussions, presents at advisor-oriented educational seminars, and guides the development of options curriculum and content for financial advisors on the OIC website.

Over the last 25 years, Mr. Cott has supported, served as and directed financial advisors through different roles. Prior to OIC, he was a Regional Vice President and Retirement Income Consultant at Sunlife Financial Distributors Inc., where he identified and cultivated new business, increasing assets and revenue share. Before that, Mr. Cott spent the majority of his investment career as a Producing Manager and Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc., where he built and maintained a successful wealth management practice.

Mr. Cott holds a BA from University of Wisconsin Madison and the CRPC designation from the College of Financial Planning.
