Session 1 - The Covered Combination

9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. ET

The covered combination can enable you to do a couple of things: increase your position if a stock or ETF you own declines or sell it at a defined price if it climbs to where you're ready to take profits. In this session, we'll discuss:

  • Covered call writing
  • Put selling
  • Building the covered combination
  • Motivation and risks
  • Calculating your maximum loss and break-even points

Session 2: The Iron Condor

10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. ET

It's not just a great name - the iron condor can have great utility, too. This four-position income strategy is often used when an investor has a neutral view on a stock or ETF. During this discussion, you'll hear:

  • A review of the bear call spread and bull put spread which make up the iron condor
  • The components of the strategy
  • Special risks to consider
  • Ways to help identify ideal stock levels at expiration

Session 3: The Iron Butterfly

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET

The iron butterfly is another four-position trade designed to produce income that’s usually deployed when an investor is looking for the underlying to stay in a narrow range. Here's what you'll learn about in this session:

  • The short straddle and long strangle which forms the iron butterfly
  • The components of the iron butterfly
  • Choosing stock prices and managing positions
  • Calculating maximum gain and maximum risk
