International Securities Exchange Joins The Options Industry Council
Chicago—September 14, 2000
The Options Industry Council (OIC) and the International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced today that ISE has become a member of OIC.
"We're very excited that ISE has joined OIC's educational efforts for current and potential options investors," said Paul Stevens, OIC's President. "The rapidly evolving options marketplace makes investor education a top priority for our organization."
ISE is the first nationally registered securities exchange in twenty-seven years, the first fully electronic options exchange in the United States, and the world's first options marketplace combining electronic trading and auction market principles.
Representing ISE on OIC will be Richard Pombonyo, ISE's Vice President of Marketing. "We are very happy to be joining OIC during this period of unprecedented growth in the options industry and look forward to contributing to the positive influence that OIC has had in this expansion," said Pombonyo.
ISE has announced its intention to list the top 600 equity options classes representing over 90% of the option industry's average daily trading volume. ISE launched trading on May 26, 2000.
ISE headquarters is located at 60 Broad Street, New York, NY 10004 and can be reached at (212) 943-2400 or, for additional information, visit its Web site at www.iseoptions.com.
