OIC Announces Fall Options Seminar Schedule Nearly 68,000 educated by OIC seminars since program's inception
Chicago—August 27, 2002
Since it was founded ten years ago, The Options Industry Council (OIC) has educated nearly 68,000 investors about the use of equity options through 789 free seminars. And the momentum continues as OIC announces its fall options seminar schedule.
The fall season features basic and intermediate seminars taught in a classroom style format by experienced options exchange instructors. The seminars take place in select cities in the U.S. and Canada from 6-9 p.m. and there is no cost to attend.
"There has never been a better time for investors to learn about options as an portfolio management tool," said Paul Stevens, President, OIC. "As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary this fall, its gratifying to know that our seminars have proven to be one of our most valuable offerings for investors and brokers."
Seminar offerings include
Basic Seminar: Options Strategies for Stock Investors - This seminar introduces the fundamentals of options and explains how to use equity options as a way to participate in stock price movement. Using real data, investors learn how to choose an options strategy in light of market expectations and volatility forecasts.
Intermediate Seminar: Practical Strategy Applications - A follow-up to the basic seminar, which provides insight on managing an options portfolio. This workshop briefly reviews options basics, provides more in-depth instruction on pricing concepts, and explores volatility using educational software. More complicated strategies for the different markets will also be discussed.
Fall classes will be held in the following cities from Sept. 10 through Oct. 31: Boca Raton, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Lee, N.J., Hartford, Conn., La Jolla, Calif., Long Island, N.Y, Miami, Montreal, New York, Palm Beach, Parsippany, N.J., Philadelphia, Providence, R.I., Richmond, Va., San Francisco, San Jose, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Toronto, Washington, D.C. and White Plains, N.Y.
