The Options Industry Council Launches Redesigned Web Site Offering New Interactive Educational Tools

Chicago—October 4, 2005

The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that it has launched the redesign of its web site,, featuring new interactive options learning tools, improved usability and design, up-to-date web technologies and a new navigation scheme.

The fresh new face of OIC on the web was guided by feedback from the site’s users, ensuring will remain the destination for options education. The new site has been structured to allow investors of all backgrounds and skill levels find content that matches their experience level. The layout brings added focus to the synergy between the OIC call center and the site’s learning tools, while the design and navigation were planned to assist visitors, from the novice to the most advanced trader, in tailoring their options education program to their needs.

Indeed, a key feature of the redesign is the ability of users to easily access different skill-level targeted information. Anyone considering options for the first time will continue to find all the basic information they need, and be able to progress along an educational path. For the increasing number of experienced options investors - that are helping to drive fantastic growth in trading volume - more intermediate and advanced educational materials have been added.

Investors visiting will be able to determine where they fall on the basic to advanced options knowledge spectrum with the new comprehensive options quiz feature, "Test Your Options IQ." To increase or refresh that knowledge, OIC’s 12 free online options courses have been improved for easier navigation, greater interactivity and better readability. Users can then try out those strategies by modeling real world trades with the new online position simulator.

Throughout the web site, a definition of glossary terms is readily available to users by simply placing their mouse over highlighted terms. This allows visitors to focus on the options material rather than going back and forth to cross-reference unfamiliar language, thereby dramatically enhancing the educational experience.

OIC has begun offering investors a series of webinars covering a wide variety of options topics. The redesigned is the place to find the most up-to-date schedule of webinars and to watch previous sessions from the archives.
