The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that 352,045,303 total options contracts changed hands in November, a 32.82 percent increase from the 265,052,803 contracts traded in November 2009.

The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that 342,006,211 total options contracts were traded in October, representing a 3.5 percent increase from October 2009 volume of 330,432,938 contracts.

OIC Announces September Options Trading Volume Decreased 4%
OIC announced today that 302,075,193 total options contracts changed hands in September, a 4.05 percent decline from the 314,809,865 contracts traded in September 2009. Year-to-date volume remains 5.20 percent higher than the same point last year.

OIC Bridges Gap Between Finance Students and Options Industry with New Seminar
OIC announced today a university outreach program, The Road to Wall Street: Analyze Your Options, will be offered this fall to educate students about options and careers within the options industry. This event will be a half-day informative seminar at Baruch College in New York (Friday, October 1) and the Illinois Institute of Technology's Stuart School of Business in Chicago (Friday, October 29).

OIC announced today two Investor Education Days (IED) are being offered this fall to help investors develop their knowledge and ability to responsibly trade options in different market environments. The IEDs will be held in New York (October 5) and Chicago (October 23).

OIC announced today that 283,487,110 total options contracts were traded in August, representing a 0.97 percent decrease from August 2009 volume of 286,269,624 contracts.

OIC Announces June Trading Volume Down Slightly As First Half Volume Rose 10%
OIC announced today that 309,262,866 total options contracts were traded in June, a 2.03 percent decline compared to June 2009 volume of 315,656,061 contracts. However, year-to-date volume stood at 2,000,877,118 contracts and is up 10.22 percent over the first six months of last year when 1,815,316,203 contracts were traded.

OIC announced today that a new monthly total options trading volume record was set in May with 405,860,027 options contracts changing hands, a 28.93 percent increase compared to May of last year when 314,799,038 contracts changed hands.

A New OIC Study Finds The More Client Focused Advisors With Extensive Product Knowledge Are Inclined To Use Options
OIC today released the results of the Financial Advisor Engagement Study, conducted by the Diamond Group Ltd., and finds advisors inclined to use options to be more knowledgeable about different investment products with more assets under management than those disinclined. The new study also showed interesting correlations to previous OIC research on options investors.
